Working in Flash

I like working in flash because It is fun to see something work that you coded. It is easy after you get the hang of it. It does challenge you if you get a hard code. It is also fun to make games that work, and that can teach people. The funniest thing I like about flash is all the ways you can make stuff.

Our Progress

I have only had one problem with my game so far. Everything else like the buttons, animation, scenes, and actionscript have gave me no problem with the game. I only had that one problem with getting my deffense to come straight after the running back. I look forward to being able to see my finished game working good with no errors. I also look forward to being able to see something work after you have coded it.

Adding our scenes

To show visual story telling we have a options scene so that you can pick what you wan't to be a cheerleader or football player just like in real life. We also will have them running the ball to and picking plays. One of the games that I played in playing to learn is th race to justice because it all started at his house this is a really good story telling game. Some games like war games have influnced my game because they all start with a story behind them. These games just fall into place with the story told.

Starting Our Game

I have learned that the different colors are going to be hard to match and make it look good. Once I started on my first scene I realized that it was going to be hard. I also asked my friend if he liked the colors I used, he said that it really didn't match. We are doing our game on football and fractions the colors are blue and purple. Your opponents colors are orange, and black. I also noticed that fractions and football are going to be hard to put together in a game, because football doesn't really use much fractions. We also have a lot of coding in our game.

Our Paper Prototype

The paper prototype has helped me think a lot about what we are going to do with our game. It has also helped me think about certain ideas that will make our game fun and learning. When we started out we thought it was going to be easy to make a game about football, but it is challenging. If it wasn't for the paper prototype I don't know what our game would look like. I will put the video when we get done.

How we've done

I am Billy Waldron and my partner is Chelsey Coleman. Our team name is "The West Virginia Rednecks." We are doing our game on percents. Percent is like when you go shopping you have to add taxes on whatever you buy. Our Genre is sports or action and our topic is math. Our class is in the stem community knowledge. We do not have a title for our game right yet but we are on it. We are doing our game on percents and the theme is going to be football and cheerleading. At the begining of our game you can pick if you want a cheerleader or a football player. That is how far we have gotten on our game so far!
